I'm sorry, Khelpoo.

Tue Feb 22, 2005, 8:47 PM
For the last month or so, I had been working on this very big and detailed picture. I've never done a picture of that scale before. I'm not sure how many hours of work I had put into it - twenty or thirty, I think. I had it all inked, with a detailed background and the pictuire itself partially coloured.
Then my system crashed and the drawing went to hell. I've been trying to recover it with all kinds of programs all day yesterday, but to no avail.
If even just the sketch remained, I would've been able to redo the rest, but even the sketch is gone... Just the sketch took me hours to get right in this one. It was done in an odd perspective, which is basically something I can't do but just happened to get right out of luck, after a few hours of work on the sketch.

Maybe I should just quit drawing, if that's what happens to hard work and effort.

I'm sorry, Khel. That was your belated birthday picture. :(

1. Rimon, did you save the picture periodically whilst working on it?

2. Did you work from a sketch (on paper)?

=( *hugs*
:iconsunnaiko:
1. Yes, I did. I did it over an entire month, so there's no way I couldn't have saved, ne? :P
2. Nope. It was all done in photoshop.

God damn thats crap....so you lost the psd file in the crash?

Try taking it to a computer specialist store and see if they can retrieve the data for you :3
:iconsunnaiko:
Yeah, that's what I'm going to do. I'll also ask him about WHY my comp crashes like that all the time. ><

How much RAM do you have?

omfg. Here, I thought you were going to tell me something really horrible; something along the lines of "You're a bloody arsehole, and I don't want to talk to you again. Sorry. D<" *heaves a huge sigh of relief*

It's alright if ya don't draw me something for my birthday... Hell, it's the thought that counts, right? :heart: That you'd actually put that much effort into something for me is already a great birthday present! :hug: :glomp:

Don't quit drawing. Because then I'll... I'll.... *thinks* Do something. > D Besides, hard work + effort = improvements = happy khel.

Oh wow, I'm so sorry ;-;

When my laptop crashed and died, I lost two pictures that I had been working pretty hard on. My grandma, who worked for the Hewlett Packard company for years and who is a computer whiz, told me that very few things are lost beyong recovering on a PC.

I hope you don't have a Mac ^^;

Anyway, I ended up just giving up because I was completely broke and couldn't afford to take it anywhere, but I think you can get your picture back. And it shouldn't be expensive either.

Please, please don't quit drawing. You can't give up for just one picture! If you looked back on it in a year or two years or five years, I'm sure you wouldn't care. Just start again on another picture. You encouraged me not to give up drawing when I was down about myself. You can't give up either!

:heart:
:iconsunnaiko:
O_O Why would I say something like that?! You're a wonderful friend and I wish I could talk to you more. :XD:

I'm so glad you're not angry ;.; I took a little break from drawing because I was so pissed at the comp for eating that one, but I won't quit drawing, I promise. I'll just back up my files all the time and get the comp fixed. Getting a technician (sp?) to try to recover the file would be a problem, though... we checked how much it costs and it's about 150 dollars. o_O;

:heart::heart::heart: *huggles* ;__;
I got you a little 'replacement' present on Gaia... I hope you like it. ^^;
