Erm, I didn't really know what catagory this should go into...
This is Oran Almog. He's a school friend of my little brother and is currently 11 years old. He is also blind, due to a terrorist attack that happened a year ago in the restaurant 'Maxim'. He and his family just went there for a holiday dinner. The unthinkable happened, and a suicide bomber blew the place up. Oran lost his father, his grandparents, his uncle, his cousin, his little brother and his sight. It's terrible how an innocent little kid loses everything because of a fight he's not even a part of. This is an article I saved from a long time ago. About a month after the terrible incident, Oran was taken to Alabama for eye surgury, in an attempt to save his vision at least partially. It seemed he was actually going to be able to see. The title of the article is "Oran can See the Light". I don't know exactly what happened, but he can't anymore. He's still blind, forever in the darkness. Picture slightly edited in Photoshop. the original is here: [link] He was such a cute kid... What caused me to finally post this here? This picture: [link] It got a Top Daily Favourite, and I really don't know how. It's full of hatred and bigotry. Please read my comment about it (It's a big one somewhere down at the bottom of the first page) and help out by reporting the picture. It appalls me how someone can say such things with no ground to stand on. >_< |

About the "picture" that caused you to post this.... I went and found your reply. If you have your comments set to "Newest First," it's on this page: [link]
I am very impressed with your reply. This quote in particular I can indentify with:
"Abuse of power happens everywhere in the world. It is very wrong, no matter where - But you can't blame an entire nation for something only a few people do."
As an American, I have experienced this hate and blaming from people of other countries -- and this is yet another example. Ghaib expressed hate for Americans in this non-artwork and its description. I am an American, does he hate me? Does he assume we are all the same?
Although I feel odd just agreeing with what you said (I guess I have a thing for controversy or something) but I think your comment was well-written and made excellent points, and I commend you for it.
Love the dark feeling about the pic, its so sad

Oh joy, I just saw a Nazi comment on on his work. Really. She had the Nazi cross in her avatar and Nazi links in her sig.

"Patriot!"
even here we take part of this global political argue.
i mean his post really shocked me, i didnt beleive people would or could actually say such things. and worst some ppl loved him for that....all fools, simply trying to create more hatered in the world...
about your post, these kinds of storyes always make me angry, such innocent people are victimes to terrorist attackes and just like that their lives are completly changed...its horrible...
and in the end we come out the bad guy....this world is simply unfair...
